Apple first launched the AirPods in December 2016, allowing users to listen to audio streamed from their iPhone or another Bluetooth device without the hassle of untangling a mess of EarPods wires. The second generation AirPods with “Hey Siri” support then launched in March 2019, introducing a version with a normal Charging Case and one with a Wireless Charging Case.
In October 2019, Apple introduced the latest version of the AirPods, dubbed the AirPods Pro. These wireless earphones are a step above the regular models thanks to active noise cancellation, IPX4 water and sweat resistance, and a new in-ear design that supports silicone tips in three different sizes. They’re priced at $249.00, representing the most expensive model of Apple’s AirPods.
The most recent AirPods update came in the form of the AirPods Max, a pair of over-ear Bluetooth headphones that are set as the high-end alternative for the AirPods line, with active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and adaptive EQ. AirPods Max are priced at $549.
