A forgotten PS3 exclusive is officially dead, though not officially cancelled. Back in July 2009, at E3, on PlayStation’s stage, Rockstar Games announced Agent for the PS3, two years after initially teasing the title on the same stage. In 2013 and 2017, a trademark for the game was renewed, before being abandoned in 2018. And this is all we’ve heard about the game since its announcement. There’s been no word from Rockstar Games or Sony about the missing title. Fast-forward to today, and that hasn’t changed, but Rockstar did provide an indirect update on the game. 12 years after it was first announced, Rockstar has finally deleted Agent from the “Games” section on their official website.
At the moment of publishing, there’s no word of the game being officially canned, and at this point, we may never get this official confirmation. That said, this is as close as we are going to get, at least anytime soon thanks to strict NDAs and embargos.
