The main story of Squid Game follows 456 individuals who are recruited to take part in a series of games for a chance to win an enormous amount of money, 45.6 Billion Won to be exact. Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae) is the main character, and it is through his perspective that the world of Squid Game is primarily shown. While other characters enter the picture, the majority of the show focuses on the actual games played and the contestants’ experience. The most significant deviation from this story comes with a curious cop Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon), who begins infiltrating the competition in hopes of finding answers about what happened to his brother, who he believes is or was a participant in Squid Game.
